Of all the games to come out in 2016, this is the one I'm most looking forward to. I even exchanged a couple of emails with one of the devs to suggest things I would like to see implemented and ask a few other questions. I've been following the game with great interest since first footage emerged. They should never be mutually exclusive, period. Seriously, all this talks about "30 fps will be ok" are nonsense: you have a cheap laptop with Intel gfx? Then play it 30fps, but let better PCs play it at 60. So many indie projects that get started never finish in the end, Im happy that Heart Machine was able to make it through all the troubles and finish what they set out to do. You can ask for 60fps all you want with a AAA game, Im just happy that HLD is being released at all. If you want graphics>gameplay go endorse a 4k 120fps version of Air Control and go enjoy that while the rest of us are looking forward to Hyper Light Drifter for its great gameplay, beautiful pixel-styled and hand animated graphics, interesting lore, and the ability to enjoy a project that some of us have been watching since the start of its Kickstarter campaign over two years ago. If all you care about is the framerate then it is obvious you never wanted to actually play this game. Games have been 30fps or less since 3d has been a part of games. Praising mediocrity? There are great games made inly at 30fps. Passive players accepting everything is one of the root cause of poor gaming in last years. "30 fps, in 2016?!" seriously, lmao! you might as well go all the way with the stupidity and say, "2d games? in 2016?! on PC?!?!" most people don't understand the first thing about how the technology works but put obligations on games to support their hardware or to support features that enticed them to foolishly part with their money in the first place (for whatever fixed pixel display or gfx card). such people are the problem, not the framerate. i always laugh at people who don't suffer motion sickness but pretend that 30fps is inherently bad, a poor choice, or a sign of development shortcoming (lazy dev). there will always be people that suffer some sort of discomfort depending on how they perceive motion and it isn't exclusive to 30fps or low framerates.
